More Old Venice Photos...and Comments on Taking Supplements

1984 - The name of a book written about it by George Orwell.   The Olympics came to LA.  The photos below have nothing to do with the book but everything to do with the Olympics.  They show some of the Olympic Torch carry and hand-off through the streets of LA.  In a future post, I'll have photos of the Olympic Marathon, shot as they went through Venice and Marina Del Rey.  Hard to believe that was 40 years ago.

I believe I shot these photos as the torch was being carried through Santa Monica.

I could write a book about vitamins and supplements but I'll keep this short.  I posted previously (Road to Health) what I do to stay healthy.  A good multivitamin is a good start to fill in any gaps you might be missing in your diet.  Avoid supplements with artificial ingredients, FD&C food colorings, talc, etc.  Usually a "Two a Day" is better.  If you want to target specific things like supporting your joints, heart, immune system, etc., those things determine what other supplements you may want to take.  You may have to search for the answers online and do some trial and error.  When you find what works, it will make a huge difference in your health.

Previously, I posted a List of Doctors & Scientists whom I follow.  These are the best of the best.  I put asterisks next to a few of my favorites.  Several of them have excellent protocols for staying healthy.  There is always more to learn.  Here is one of the New Things I learned and have used with dilute food-grade hydrogen peroxide at the first sign of any possible viral infection.  Usually, 1 spray is enough for me.

One last note:  When searching for health-related information, use many search engines.  Talk to those who have experience.  Remember that natural remedies take a while to work, unlike drugs.  And unlike drugs, they seldom have negative side effects as long as taken appropriately (not in excess).

Scanning Old Negatives (from the 1980s)...and the usual comments.

Back in the 1970's & 1980's (long before then, actually), I was shooting with a Nikon FTn film camera.  I shot mostly B&W and mostly at Southern California beaches from Santa Monica to Hermosa.  It would have been too expensive to print every frame but kept the negatives.  Now it's time to get rid of them.  I scanned many of those over the past few years but still had hundreds more.  I decided to see what was on those negatives - lots of great photos from Venice Beach, pool parties, model headshots, and more.  So far, over 600 of them.  Lots of memories.  I'll be posting many of these on this blog as time goes by and as I'm post-processing them.  Here are some more of those photos:

In case anyone hasn't guessed, that's me in the middle.  Early 1980s, Venice Beach, Ocean Fron Walk.

After this post, I will be mentioning The Highwire for the commentary for the most part.  They and I have been on Parallel paths for several years and have come up with the same findings.

Now for my commentary on this and that.   I always recommend TheHighwire.  In addition, I hope everyone who reads my comments goes here - perfect description of how I've felt about the past 4 years.  Thankfully, I've stayed healthy for the past 15 years.  You can search this blog for "Road to Health" to read my story and what I do to stay healthy.

I believe the weatherman on Ch 7 in LA (Dallas Rains) messed up on the Global Warming narrative that's being promoted.  He said all this cold weather we're getting in LA from the Arctic is because of a thicker-than-normal ice shelf in the Arctic.  Maybe next they'll be pushing global cooling.

By now, everyone is probably familiar with illegal immigration.  They give illegal aliens money, free room and board, free medical, free education, and "get-out-of-jail free cards" when they commit crimes.  Where does all that money come from?  Speaking of illegal aliens, there was this story about a student being suspended for asking a question about aliens - you can check it HERE.   He got suspended for using correct terminology (alien is someone who came from another country and is a non-citizen in the country he/she went to; illegal is when you break the law).  These days they may as well suspend everyone because, no doubt, everyone says something that offends someone else.  We need to get back to some kind of sanity before it's too late!

For my next post, I will discuss vitamins and other nutritional supplements.

Some Photos...Followed by Common Sense Comments

Along with recent photos I'll be posting photos from the late 1970s and 1980s in this post and future posts.  The old photos were shot with a Nikon FTn and film.  The newer photos were shot with a variety of digital cameras and some with a Pixel 4 phone.  Most will be from Venice Beach and Santa Monica.  Some older ones were shot at Hermosa & Manhattan Beach.  All of them will be processed with my new favorite software - ON1 Photot Raw 2024.4.  The photos below were shot in Hermosa Beach.  The girl was an actress from a movie they were filming, on a break who was nice enough to pose for me.

Same photo after replacing the sky and making some other adjustments with ON1

Two variations with ON1 - replaced the sky, removed the other people

As always, The Highwire is a must-watch.  Why?  Remember when Chris Cuomo called Ivermectin horse de-wormer (not to mention all the others who did the same)?  This episode shows that news clip.  It also shows another news clip interview of him saying he now takes what?  Ivermectin.  Why?  Health problems related to the vax.

Common Sense and Masks

Fauci, with 40+ years of experience, said masks might make you feel safer but would do nothing to stop transmission or the spread of the virus.  Then he changed his comments.  Common sense would tell you after 40+ years of study, was he wrong all those years?  Why would anyone listen to anything he said if his science was that bad for 40 years?  All people needed to do was pay attention to what the news was saying...not the lies, but the other stuff.  It didn't matter where masks were mandated, the virus surged either way.  It was easy to look up online.  In fact, if masks worked, and were mandated, the pandemic would have ended in a few weeks.  Common sense

Common Sense and the Vax

Remember when they said if you didn't get the vax, you might kill grandma?  Same with wearing a mask.  Common sense should have told everyone that if they both worked there was no reason for both.  Make believe that the vax stopped people from getting the virus and stopped the spread as claimed.  That would mean that if you got the vax you were protected.  If you were protected it wouldn't matter what anyone else did.  Yet all the idiot night show hosts, celebrities, and the mass media people (like Rachel Maddow, etc.), were shaming those who didn't get the vax or who didn't wear a mask.  Common sense should have told people they were uninformed, idiots, and/or liars.  If the remedies worked, the only ones who could be harmed by the virus are those who didn't get it.  So all grandma had to do was wear a mask to be safe...or get the shot.  If they didn't work what would be the point of getting them?

I haven't mentioned the harm these interventions have caused.  No one knows what long-term problems may be caused - no long-term studies were done.  But I see in the news that more and more people are dying suddenly.

Common Sense and Six Foot Distancing

So when you are 6' away from someone, the virus will hit a wall or suddenly die?  Does that make any sense to anyone?

Common Sense and Lockdowns/Isolation/Unemployment & Business Failures

Common sense said this was a disaster in the making.  So did a lot of epidemiologists.  The only positive thing was for bike riders and pedestrians - no traffic to worry about.

They mandated masks and cases surged.  They mandated lockdowns, social distancing, closed beaches and cases still surged.  Then they mandated an experimental untested vax to all those they were able to mandate them for, to no effect on the spread or infection.  Common sense should have told you they were all lying to you.  Plus bullying and shaming those who ignored their lies.  Common sense should have told you they were up to no good and profiting from their lies.  In the future, if you have any common sense, please use it, otherwise they will keep doing what they've done.

Something Different - Photos from Mar Vista, CA After the Rain...and, Of Course, new Comments

Normally I would have gone to Venice Beach and played Paddle Tennis on Easter but with the forecast for showers and possible thunderstorms, decided to take a walk around the local neighborhood.  It was the first time in about 8 months (since breaking my wrist) that I was able to use my regular camera to shoot photos rather than my cell phone.  Unlike with my cell phone, I was able to shoot a photo of the HOLLYWOOD sign, and see it in the photo, from the top of the Mar Vista Hills.  The views from up there are...well, check out the photos (lots of beauty in the area):

As always, I strongly recommend watching The Highwire with Del Bigtree who interviews some amazing women in this week's episode.  One of them is a doctor (Suzanne Humphries, MD) who has spent many years researching all the stuff they try to inject into as many humans as they can.  If you want the truth about them, you should read her research in her book, Dissolving Illusions. - for a list of all the other experts I've gone to, I have listed them in previous posts (just put "list of doctors and scientists" in the search bar and scroll down a few pages.

After researching global warming, I believe they are using the same playbook for that.  I suggest rather than listening to the news about global warming, start doing your own research.  The best thing is to assume everything you hear from the media is a lie.  Everyone should have learned that from the last 3 1/2 years.  When someone lies about anything, then I believe nothing from them anymore.  When they use fear, that is a red flag that they are most likely lying.

Of course, the thing everyone should be afraid of is the open border.  No one knows who's coming in.  I know who I'm not voting for in November!

The Continuing Series of Celebrities & Background Changes...and Other Comments, As Always.

When changing the backgrounds I attempted to pick backgrounds that the person might have been to, or at least might enjoy visiting...although I'm most likely wrong.  The backgrounds, though, do put more emphasis on the subject.

The following photo of pianist Van Cliburn was shot in the Green Room by the concert hall at college.  Normally, when shooting Black & White films, I processed the films with chemistry I mixed.  However, after shooting the photos of Van Cliburn it was late, so I used chemistry that someone else had mixed.  The results were disastrous.  After years of having a terrible B&W image, digital scanning and software came to the rescue.  It's still not the best it could have been but it's not bad.  I tried to get someone else to photograph Van Cliburn because I didn't care for classical piano but could not find anyone, so I went to the concert...and he was so amazing that I couldn't leave.  I met him during the intermission and it was like meeting an old friend.  Anyway, here is the one photo I have with hopefully a proper background added.

Because I often visited Cathy Moriarty, I have more photos of her than any other celebrity.  She was wonderful, beautiful, and easy to photograph.  Here are several more photos of her, all shot on the postponed Oscar night at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and all with this background wallpaper.  The nice thing is that once the subject is isolated from the original background, each background change takes only a minute or two.

Not every photo needs to have the background changed.  The ones below of Cathy were exactly as shot.  Unfortunately, before scanning them, the images had deteriorated over time, so still had to process to repair that.

And now for the commentary part of this blog post.  It seems that every time I get ready to publish a post, I find an article or comment elsewhere that summarizes what I'm about to say...and says it better or adds to it.  This is one such comment by Dr. Sabine Hazan, M.D.  As with all my posts, I strongly recommend TheHighwire.com/watch.

I've been studying health, nutrition, and supplements for 47 years.  Ten years ago I started studying vakses.  I've owned and worked in retail health food stores and have gotten feedback from over 30,000 people.  Along the way, I received an MS degree in Holistic Nutrition and took all the courses for the PhD degree.  One thing I learned is that everyone has different body chemistry,  so if you take a supplement that helps you, that doesn't mean it will help me.  If you get a vaks and have no side effects, that doesn't mean it won't kill someone else.  Some drugs will be almost harmless to some and fatal to others.  So when I hear someone say, "I got the shot and I'm fine (which may or may not be true as it may have caused undetectable long-term damage) so you should get it, too," that may be a dangerous thing to assume.

I've learned a lot in the past 3 1/2 years.  I've learned that health agencies (CDC, FDA, NIH, NIAID, etc.) lie incessantly, as well as drug companies and media (the real misinformers).  Based on what I've been observing, more people are realizing this.  I hope you are one of them.  As I always say, your health and your life may depend on it.

The only way to find the truth is to research everything, whether it's politics, "global warming," health, or everything else in the news.  Especially when it's coming from the Rachel Maddows of the world or the so-called experts on the news.

Photography, Backgrounds, and Celebrities

Many years ago when the IFC Awards first came to Santa Monica by the beach and hardly anyone knew about it, I shot some great photos of those attending.  However, the backgrounds were distracting.  Changing them with Photoshop would have been too time-consuming.  Recently some new photo software made changing the background easier and faster.

In addition to the IFC awards, I ran into Sidney Poitier at Kennedy Airport in NY the day I was discharged from the Air Force and asked if I might get a photo of him.  He agreed and I shot one exposure.  That was all I needed.  Years later, I met Wilt Chamberlain while a photographer for the Jockey Club in MDR, CA.  His photo is below.  I met Cathy Moriarty (Nominated for an Oscar for Raging Bull) through a mutual friend and used to hang out with them in Marina Del Rey.  We visited her on what was supposed to be Oscar night (March 30, 1981) but the Oscars were postponed 24 hours because President Reagan had gotten shot.  So we spent the evening with her at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, shooting photos and having dinner.

More celebrity photos on my next blog post, including pianist Van Cliburn.

Below are the photos of the people mentioned above with the original and new backgrounds.  Hope you enjoy them.

Sidney Poitier at the baggage claim area, as photographed.  Below is the same shot with only him.

Wilt Chamberlain as shot at the Jockey Club in Marina Del Rey, CA.  The guy next to him was about 6 ft tall.

And with changed backgrounds

The changed background was done without the new software, so the edges could be better.

The photos of Cathy Moriarty (in her Oscar gown) were shot at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.  It was not a planned session so we had to work with the background wallpaper.

I tried a few different backgrounds with this photo:

The bottom two changes were before the new software, although they were pretty nice.

As for other subjects this week you can follow the latest health-related news at The Highwire.  The focus this week is on contrails or chemtrails.  Fascinating discussion.  There is also the CHD (Children's Health Defense) site, although it is more than only children.  And NVIC (National Vaccine Information Center).

On a personal note, I've added a couple of new supplements to my diet:  Pterostilbene & Fisetin.  They are too new to determine if I'll notice any benefits.  Time will tell - you may want to research them, especially if you are over age 50.

And that's a wrap for this post.
