Believe it or not, no additional comments in this blog post. Just photos of some beautiful competitors and winners. The first two photos are the same image, one in color & one in B&W. All were processed with ON1 Photo Raw 2024.5. These were my favorites. I'll be posting the others in a future post.
The photos below are some new and some old. Shot some Memorial Day photos of the bodybuilding and bikini competition at Venice Beach. Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend. I'm using ON1 Photo Raw for most of the processing and Lightroom for naming and cropping.

Remember over the past four years when they told you to do this and that or you might be killing grandma? Why is it now, with the borders wide open and illegal aliens (I think I'm not supposed to use that phrase) bringing in drugs, disease (I just read about a measles outbreak in an immigrant shelter), and committing crimes (including murder), that there is no mention of grandma's safety? Or your children's safety? Or your safety? Over 100,000 deaths from Fentanyl! What is the cost of room, board, medical, transportation, etc., that is being paid for these expenses?
On The Highwire this week (Episode 373) Francis Collins, the head of the NIH (National Institutes of Health), under oath, admitted the 6 foot distance was not based on anything. Common sense told me that from the beginning. The Highwire also talks with the founder of Xclear Nasal Spray - it looks like it probably works similarly to the Iodine/hydrogen peroxide nasal spray. It has four ingredients: Purified water, salt, xylitol, and GSE (grapefruit seed extract). I haven't tried it but plan to in the future, only as needed (i.e. - at the first sign of an infection in the nasal area). For an ongoing problem, you can follow the label directions. If you're good with these things and use it all the time, you could mix up (make) a batch for a fraction of the price.
More Olympic Torch photos from 2024. All of these, plus future posts of these recently scanned negatives, most likely have never been posted previously. In addition to the oldies, there will be some new photos occasionally. The one below, of a "Girl on a Bicycle", was also the name of a movie - click on the link to see the trailer from the movie. Excellent movie, BTW. Hope you enjoy my girl on a bicycle taken at Venice Beach adjacent to the Skate Dance Park.

1984 - The name of a book written about it by George Orwell. The Olympics came to LA. The photos below have nothing to do with the book but everything to do with the Olympics. They show some of the Olympic Torch carry and hand-off through the streets of LA. In a future post, I'll have photos of the Olympic Marathon, shot as they went through Venice and Marina Del Rey. Hard to believe that was 40 years ago.

I could write a book about vitamins and supplements but I'll keep this short. I posted previously (Road to Health) what I do to stay healthy. A good multivitamin is a good start to fill in any gaps you might be missing in your diet. Avoid supplements with artificial ingredients, FD&C food colorings, talc, etc. Usually a "Two a Day" is better. If you want to target specific things like supporting your joints, heart, immune system, etc., those things determine what other supplements you may want to take. You may have to search for the answers online and do some trial and error. When you find what works, it will make a huge difference in your health.
Previously, I posted a List of Doctors & Scientists whom I follow. These are the best of the best. I put asterisks next to a few of my favorites. Several of them have excellent protocols for staying healthy. There is always more to learn. Here is one of the New Things I learned and have used with dilute food-grade hydrogen peroxide at the first sign of any possible viral infection. Usually, 1 spray is enough for me.
One last note: When searching for health-related information, use many search engines. Talk to those who have experience. Remember that natural remedies take a while to work, unlike drugs. And unlike drugs, they seldom have negative side effects as long as taken appropriately (not in excess).
Back in the 1970's & 1980's (long before then, actually), I was shooting with a Nikon FTn film camera. I shot mostly B&W and mostly at Southern California beaches from Santa Monica to Hermosa. It would have been too expensive to print every frame but kept the negatives. Now it's time to get rid of them. I scanned many of those over the past few years but still had hundreds more. I decided to see what was on those negatives - lots of great photos from Venice Beach, pool parties, model headshots, and more. So far, over 600 of them. Lots of memories. I'll be posting many of these on this blog as time goes by and as I'm post-processing them. Here are some more of those photos:

Now for my commentary on this and that. I always recommend TheHighwire. In addition, I hope everyone who reads my comments goes here - perfect description of how I've felt about the past 4 years. I believe the weatherman on Ch 7 in LA (Dallas Rains) messed up on the Global Warming narrative that's being promoted. He said all this cold weather we're getting in LA from the Arctic is because of a thicker-than-normal ice shelf in the Arctic. Maybe next they'll be pushing global cooling.
By now, everyone is probably familiar with illegal immigration. They give illegal aliens money, free room and board, free medical, free education, and "get-out-of-jail free cards" when they commit crimes. Where does all that money come from? Speaking of illegal aliens, there was this story about a student being suspended for asking a question about aliens - you can check it HERE. He got suspended for using correct terminology (alien is someone who came from another country and is a non-citizen in the country he/she went to; illegal is when you break the law). These days they may as well suspend everyone because, no doubt, everyone says something that offends someone else. We need to get back to some kind of sanity before it's too late!

Common Sense and Masks
Fauci, with 40+ years of experience, said masks might make you feel safer but would do nothing to stop transmission or the spread of the virus. Then he changed his comments. Common sense would tell you after 40+ years of study, was he wrong all those years? Why would anyone listen to anything he said if his science was that bad for 40 years? All people needed to do was pay attention to what the news was saying...not the lies, but the other stuff. It didn't matter where masks were mandated, the virus surged either way. It was easy to look up online. In fact, if masks worked, and were mandated, the pandemic would have ended in a few weeks. Common sense
Common Sense and the Vax
Remember when they said if you didn't get the vax, you might kill grandma? Same with wearing a mask. Common sense should have told everyone that if they both worked there was no reason for both. Make believe that the vax stopped people from getting the virus and stopped the spread as claimed. That would mean that if you got the vax you were protected. If you were protected it wouldn't matter what anyone else did. Yet all the idiot night show hosts, celebrities, and the mass media people (like Rachel Maddow, etc.), were shaming those who didn't get the vax or who didn't wear a mask. Common sense should have told people they were uninformed, idiots, and/or liars. If the remedies worked, the only ones who could be harmed by the virus are those who didn't get it. So all grandma had to do was wear a mask to be safe...or get the shot. If they didn't work what would be the point of getting them?
I haven't mentioned the harm these interventions have caused. No one knows what long-term problems may be caused - no long-term studies were done. But I see in the news that more and more people are dying suddenly.
Common Sense and Six Foot Distancing
So when you are 6' away from someone, the virus will hit a wall or suddenly die? Does that make any sense to anyone?
Common Sense and Lockdowns/Isolation/Unemployment & Business Failures
Common sense said this was a disaster in the making. So did a lot of epidemiologists. The only positive thing was for bike riders and pedestrians - no traffic to worry about.
They mandated masks and cases surged. They mandated lockdowns, social distancing, closed beaches and cases still surged. Then they mandated an experimental untested vax to all those they were able to mandate them for, to no effect on the spread or infection. Common sense should have told you they were all lying to you. Plus bullying and shaming those who ignored their lies. Common sense should have told you they were up to no good and profiting from their lies. In the future, if you have any common sense, please use it, otherwise they will keep doing what they've done.
